JUSTIN MITCHELL
Justin Mitchell is the Vice President of Operations.
Justin Mitchell became the VP of Operations for PZI Consulting on 1 January 2024 after a 31-year career as a Department of Defense Civilian leading the base operations of military bases all over the world. He comes with a wealth of knowledge in leadership, budgeting, logistics, human resources, and operations. Prior to his new assignment Justin was the IMCOM Directorate Sustainment, Chief of Staff, December of 2020.
Prior to this, Mr. Mitchell was the Deputy to the Garrison Commander, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from June 2014 until December 2020. Prior to Fort Bragg, Mr. Mitchell was the Deputy to the Garrison Commander, Fort Rucker, Alabama from August 2009 to June 2014. Mr Mitchell attended and graduated from the United States Army War College, Carlisle Pennsylvania 2008-2009. His assignments prior to attending the Senior Service College include, Deputy to the Garrison Commander Schweinfurt, Germany from 2002-2008. Director of Community Activities 282nd Base Support Battalion, Hohenfels, Germany, Assistant Director of Community Activities at the 409th Base Support Battalion, Vilseck, Germany, and Family Support Division Chief and Army Community Service Officer at Camp Zama, Japan. Prior to joining the Federal Service in 1993, he worked for five years as a Child Abuse Investigator in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Mitchell’s education includes graduation from Dawson County High School and Dawson Community College. He graduated from Montana State University-Billings with a double major Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. Mr. Mitchell completed his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and in 2009 was awarded a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, Carlisle, PA.
His significant training includes: United States Army War College, Army Management Staff College, Garrison Pre-Command Course, National Security Personnel System and Pay Pool Manager Training, Lean Six Sigma Senior Leader Course, Mediation Training, Facilitators School, Personnel Management Training for New Executives. He is also a member of the United States Army War College Alumni Association.
His awards include the following: Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, Two Superior Civilian Service Awards, three Commander’s Awards for Civilian Service, and a Leadership Award while attending Army Management Staff College. He was selected as the Vice President Civilian Leader at the Army War College and received the Leadership Award for that as well.
